The project

I had another early call with the German company this morning. This time it was over the telephone with a project manager, and he walked me through what they need me to do. The assignment is very simple, and shouldn't be a problem for me at all. The timeline I was given is equally as sweet, allowing me 3 weeks to complete the project. This is great because it will give me time to play around with the layout and maybe come up with a couple different options. We've got a touch-base call scheduled for Monday, so I'm going to bust a move over the weekend and see what I can get done.

The call was encouraging because some of the things he said were forward thinking: "We need to familiarize you with the brand and this project will be a good place to start," implying that this is the beginning of something and not just a one-time deal.

I'm putting all my painting-related activities on hold so I can focus on this project and – hopefully – my subsequent move to Berlin. Once I'm settled there I can set up a new studio and pick up where I left off. I think it will make my work stronger to take a break for a few months, and I imagine moving across the world into a new environment will shake up what I do as well.
