One of the agencies in Berlin that I applied to wrote and asked me to send the a CV, so now I'm going to have to write one. It's still really weird to me the vast quantity of documents and information that Germans want from job applicants. Over here I would just send a resume and a cover letter, but for the jobs I'm applying for in Berlin I need – in addition to that – a professional photograph, a (long) list of both professional and personal references, portfolio examples, certificates, and my diploma, PLUS a CV.

It's a lot of work getting all this stuff together, but it's made me remember all the cool things I've done over the course of my career – things I'd completely forgotten – and looking at all the breadth and depth of my accomplishments is kind of inspiring and confidence building.
